Gibson Les Paul Axcess Floyd Rose (2008 / Iced Tea) (PREOWNED)

Here is an excellent condition LP Axcess featuring a stunning flametop reminiscent of a 1959 model. Built in the Custom Shop, this guitar has been played by legends like Slash and Richie Sambora. Has slight damage on each side of the neck to the lacquer where it has been hung on a wall hanger, see pictures. Other than that the guitar is barely used.

The Gibson Les Paul Standard has been a top choice for rock guitarists for over 50 years, and the introduction of the Les Paul Axcess Standard from the Gibson Custom Shop enhances its playability even further. 

While it retains the elegant styling and iconic body lines of classic Les Pauls from 1958 to ’60, the Axcess boasts several upgrades focused on maximizing playability and versatility. The most significant feature is the Floyd Rose tailpiece, designed for everything from subtle vibrato to dramatic divebombs. Unlike previous modifications that could compromise stability, the Floyd Rose on the Axcess is expertly installed at the Gibson Custom Shop, ensuring perfect integration with the guitar’s design. Coupled with an R4 locking nut, it offers exceptional tuning stability and accurate return-to-pitch.

When you pick up the guitar, you'll notice the innovative neck joint. While it appears traditional from the front, the heel and parts of the back have been contoured for a "heelless" feel, allowing for effortless access up to the 22nd fret. No more awkward stretches—this guitar provides legendary Les Paul playability all the way up the neck.

The Axcess also features a "belly scarf" contour that allows the guitar to rest comfortably against your body while playing. Combined with its slightly thinner, weight-relieved mahogany body and carved maple top, this guitar is both lightweight and a joy to play, whether standing or seated.

As Gibson Custom Shop Operations Manager Michael McGuire explains, “Everything about this Les Paul has been designed to make it a player’s ‘player’s guitar.’” With easy access to the upper frets, comfortable contours, and the Floyd Rose vibrato, this instrument is built for optimum performance. Like all Custom Shop creations, the Les Paul Axcess undergoes a final setup and fret dressing using the computer-controlled PLEK System.

In addition to its exceptional playability, the Les Paul Axcess Standard delivers outstanding tone. It features exposed-coil BurstBucker 1 and BurstBucker 2 pickups that replicate vintage PAF-style humbuckers, producing everything from warm, fluid tones to rich growl. An added push/pull switch on the treble tone knob allows for coil splitting, enabling true single-coil tones. This versatility makes it perfect for classic rock leads, contemporary crunch, and everything in between. The pure nickel-wound .010 Gibson Vintage Strings enhance its rich, textured sound.
